March 3, 2026, Los Angeles – GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, the second largest entertainment journalists organization in the world, today announced the group’s 2026 Dorian Film Awards, with Sinners emerging as the year’s undeniable standout with 6 wins. In a rare alignment of commercial success and critical acclaim, Ryan Coogler’s sweeping historical horror epic, Sinners, became one of the few recent blockbusters to sweep the Dorians’ top prizes, underscoring its cultural resonance and artistic ambition. Earning Film of the Year and securing a commanding number of honors across major categories, including Director of the Year for Coogler, who was also named Wilde Artist of the Year, this recognition underscores its cultural resonance and artistic ambition.

This year’s awards also celebrated excellence across the spectrum of cinema and performance. Rose Byrne took home the award for Film Performance of the Year for If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, while Amy Madigan earned Supporting Film Performance of the Year for Weapons for work that captivated audiences and critics alike.

Gregg Araki received the LGBTQIA+ Film Trailblazer Award for his decades-long commitment to fearless queer storytelling, and Eva Victor was named Rising Star for their vivid and emotionally incisive contributions to contemporary cinema. Legendary performer Tim Curry was honored with the Timeless Star Award, which goes to a performer “whose exemplary career is marked by character, wisdom, and wit.” From foundational cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show to iconic performances spanning mystery, musical, horror, comedy, thriller, stage, animation, and games, Curry’s enduring influence exemplifies the spirit of the Dorian Awards. Previous Timeless Star winners include the likes of Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, John Waters, Sir Ian McKellen, Angela Lansbury, and Nathan Lane.

"This year's Dorian Film Award winners represent the best and most promising that the world of film has to offer,” said GALECA President Walter Hickey, “GALECA's members have long recognized daring and adventurous art and the distinct, visionary artists responsible for it, and this year is no different.”
